2020 WISMER VINEYARD - FOX CROFT BLOCK CHARDONNAY
The Fox Croft block of the Wismer Vineyard is located on the corner of Victoria Avenue and Moyer Road in Vineland, within the Twenty Mile Bench sub-appellation of the Niagara Escarpment. The microclimate of the Fox Croft Block tends to be slightly warmer due to lower elevation on the Escarpment. The final wine shows notes of ripe citrus, green apple, seamless spice and a vibrant, mineral-driven finish.
The grapes were hand-harvested and whole bunch pressed to 500l/tonne. This wine was fermented and aged sur lie in Burgundian oak barrels (20% new) for 14 months before being bottled.
